A Chesterfield outpost of Bath & Body Works is going bigger with an expansion into a neighboring storefront.
The personal care and home products seller is planning to reopen its store at 4825 Commonwealth Centre Parkway near Brandermill in August, according to a company spokesperson.
The new Bath & Body Works will be 5,000 square feet, twice the size of its previous space that’s been closed during construction. The store has been operating in a temporary location across the street in the meantime.
The larger space results from an expansion into the adjacent storefront at 4821 Commonwealth Centre Parkway, which had formerly been occupied by Bombshell. The salon chain closed the Chesterfield spot along with its other locations in 2024.
Other stores in the shopping center include Target and Kohl’s. The center also includes a Regal theater.
The expansion project is part of a pivot by Bath & Body Works to grow its store count outside of shopping malls. The company said in a statement this spring that it is transitioning to a predominantly off-mall retailer with a goal of 75% of its stores outside malls.
Bath & Body Works has six locations in the Richmond area. The Fortune 500 retailer has 1,900 locations across the United States and Canada, per its website.
As Bath & Body Works expands in Chesterfield, new-to-market discount fragrance store Perfumania is planning to open a location at Short Pump Town Center.
