New-to-market retailer Perfumania to open at Short Pump mall

Following the recent news of a Lego Store and Dick’s House of Sport joining the tenant roster at Short Pump Town Center, yet another national chain is coming to the western Henrico mall.

Perfumania, a chain of discount perfume stores, is planning to open in a 1,500-square-foot space on the mall’s ground level, according to a build permit submitted to Henrico County last month.

The store would occupy suite 1506, between Casper and Miniso, near Macy’s. The fragrance shop’s space was formerly occupied by an orthodontics practice.

It wasn’t clear when the Perfumania was anticipated to open the upcoming store. The company didn’t respond to emails seeking comment.

Perfumania, which lists more than 100 stores nationwide on its website, doesn’t currently operate any locations in the Richmond region. It has one in Virginia, at the Potomac Mills mall in Prince William County.

Perfumania is among several retailers eyeing new locations at Short Pump Town Center. Lego is planning to open a Lego Store location at the mall amid other projects in the region that include a massive manufacturing facility taking shape in Chesterfield. Dick’s Sporting Goods is also planning one of its House of Sport locations in the mall’s former Nordstrom building.

Other stores at Short Pump mall include Dick’s, Dillard’s, Crate & Barrel and Old Navy.
