A local restaurateur is expanding his presence on Arthur Ashe Boulevard.

Jay Ko recently signed a lease for 910 N. Arthur Ashe Blvd., where he’s planning to open a new concept, Goldwing.

The roughly 1,500-square-foot space is adjacent to Ko’s other restaurant, Fighting Fish, a sushi joint he opened in 2021.

Ko, who previously owned Jackson Ward Korean restaurant JKogi, said that the Goldwing menu is still in development but that it will focus on cocktails and desserts.

The space was formerly a Chinatown Bus station but has been vacant in recent years. Work on Goldwing is underway and Ko said he hopes to open the restaurant later this fall.

At least one other new eatery is en route for that stretch of Arthur Ashe Boulevard.  An in-house restaurant is planned as part of the nearly 300-room hotel Shamin Hotels will build across the street on the site of the former Hardee’s building. Further north, an eight-story mixed-use development called The Ace is set to include over 10,000 square feet of commercial space, at least some of which could potentially attract a food-related tenant.
