Sina Hospitality is eyeing two new hotels in northwestern Chesterfield, adding to a list of other local projects in progress or planned by the hotelier.

The company is looking to break ground on the two hotels near Westchester Commons in the first quarter of 2026, CEO Ravi Patel said this week.

The two hotels – one a 102-room Residence Inn and the other a 95-room Fairfield Inn & Suites – are anticipated to cost a total of $35 million. The hotels are currently slated to open in mid-2027.

Hopewell-based Harlan Construction will be the general contractor on both hotels. Asim Kumar, a locally based architect, is handling the designs, and Petersburg-based Site Design Co. is handling engineering.

Sina is set to buy a 5-acre site for the project, which would be carved out of a larger 13-acre parcel at 15200 East West Road, between the recently opened OrthoVirginia Westchester facility and the Hamlet at Watkins Centre residential development.

The land for the hotels would be purchased from Henrico-based real estate firm Lingerfelt. The site is currently owned by an LLC tied to former state senator John Watkins, per online land records. Lingerfelt has the land under contract and plans to ultimately sell it to Sina, Patel said.

Patel said the project is needed due to a lack of hotels in the area. He said the company hopes to capture the business of those who travel for medical care at the OrthoVirginia office and other nearby healthcare facilities.

“This part of Chesterfield is underrepresented when it comes to hotels,” Patel said. “From this area (eastward) to Chesterfield Towne Center, there are no hotels.”

The hotels slated to rise near Westchester Commons come as Sina works to further expand its local presence with other projects.

Sina plans to finish construction this summer on a Springhill Suites hotel near Richmond International Airport. The company is planning to start construction on a Residence Inn at 5249 Commonwealth Centre Parkway in Brandermill this spring, and it is also planning a Towneplace Suites at 101 N. Providence Road in Chesterfield.

The Henrico-based hotelier has 36 hotels in six states that it currently operates or plans to open, Patel said. Sina is also involved in a project being planned by Chesterfield Food Bank to expand its facility on Iron Bridge Road.
